Great Start to Fillies Syndicate

Saturday, 11 January 2020 08:50

The first of the three fillies LA syndicated last summer to go to the races debuted at Kembla Grange on Saturday and Belluci Babe (Per Incanto-Savamour by Savabeel) franked impressive trials form and an odds-on quote to score impressively over 1000m.

Belluci Babe, who is raced by a large syndicate of NZ based owners and clients of her trainer Bjorn Baker, scored by two lengths from a pair of Godolphin fillies and ran a swift 56.3.

Keke Star (Shooting to Win-Kekova by Elusive City) and an as yet unnamed Per Incanto-Rochfort filly were the other fillies syndicated. The Te Akau trained Keke Star won a trial as a 2YO last March and was second in her first trial in a new preparation just before Christmas while the Rochfort filly impressed in her first prep for Pam Gerard and is spelling in readiness for her first campaign this autumn.

Domestically, Cutting Up Rough (Per Incanto-Lutine Belle by O’Reilly) may have narrowly missed providing Per Incanto with his 15th individual stakes winner when beaten a nose in the Group 3 Anniversary Handicap at Trentham but it was still another pedigree upgrade for his full brother who sells as LOT 719 in LA’s Karaka Book 2 draft.

A family operation and success over many years, plus a location in a beautiful, under rated part of the country.
