LA Buoyed by Preparation for Sydney Easter 2020 Sale

Monday, 06 April 2020 04:45

With less than 24 hours to go before the ground breaking on-line Inglis Sydney Easter 2020 Sale, there’s the usual pre-sale nerves amongst the team at LA but there’s also a sense of real achievement of having left no stone unturned in preparing and presenting the select draft of four blue blood fillies in very different circumstances.

LA’s Sam Williams feels the farm has helped itself in preparation for the unique nature of the sale by a long-held focus on digital and social media as well as being able to rely on some enduring relationships.

“We’re lucky to have some great contacts in the media and filming industry and that’s been teamed up with our LA crew who keep our facebook and Instagram feed full of everything you need and want to know about these yearlings. It’s all been pulled together for this sale”

Williams is reluctantly parting with the three fillies owned by the farm along with Pip McCarroll, Ben and Anna Petro and Kerry and Amanda Wilkins.

“Easter is the best of the best; you have to target the sale a long way out and be sure that the quality is right-up there. Their pedigrees were always a given but of course you need them to go the right way. It’s well known that our spring was one for the ages and you saw the results of that at Karaka. As it happens, I’ve found myself wondering more and more should I be selling these fillies. They’re just the complete package; Australasian and International Group 1 pedigrees and such great physicals, ultimately they’ll be standouts in the best broodmare bands in Australasia.”

William’s has also called on the expertise of local bloodstock agent Bruce Perry.

“It’s a big plus having Bruce living so close, he’s a bit of a regular on the farm and he’s seen plenty of these fillies from birth. He’s a first-rate judge and is extremely well thought of across Australasia.”

A link to some of Bruce’s notes on each of the fillies can be found here. Bruce is contactable on + 64 274 779 448.

We are also very privileged to be selling on behalf of Haunui Farm the beautifully bred Tavistock filly LOT 463 out of the Group 3 wining Flying Spur mare Full Of Spirit. This is a filly from a family packed full of residual value.

Day 1 of the sale which commences at 12pm NZ time or 10am Sydney time tomorrow features LOT 244, the first foal of the stakes winning Pins mare Tie Me Down by Capitalist, and LOT 254, a cracking Savabeel filly from the Flying Spur mare Tsukioka who descends from the blue hen mare Sanderae.
