LA Finishes Book 1 Strongly

Tuesday, 28 January 2020 19:21

BBA Ireland, Cambridge Stud (2) and Go Racing (2) featured on the buyers list as LA finished Book 1 strongly yesterday.

LA’s top Book 1 price was the $320k for the Written Tycoon-Pasadena Girl filly, purchased by the New South Wales partnership of Group 1 Goldmine/ Mitchell Bloodstock.

All the anticipation surrounding the sale of the Savabeel-Drappier colt was rewarded with his sale to Go Racing for $270, a wonderful result for Boys Get Paid and the farm.

High class racemare Xanadu commenced her sale-ring broodmare career in style with Hong Kong owner Tony Chan purchasing her Per Incanto colt for $200k. Just the dual Group 1 winner and five times Group 1 place-getter’s second foal, Hong Kong interest in the strongly made colt was intense on the back of Per Incanto’s impressive results this season in the former British colony.

Per Incanto’s fillies and mares have had a great trot and the first of his better pedigreed fillies to be sold in Book 1 generated a lot of interest. Cambridge Stud purchased the Per Incanto-Second Obsession filly for $160k and Bjorn Baker secured the Per Incanto-Kekova filly for $140k

Karaka has produced a number of highlights for LA over the years but it was hard to surpass the feelings experienced by the whole team on Monday following the sale of Valachi Down’s Brazen Beau-Stepanova filly. The fillies ‘journey’ highlights the wonderful generosity that exists in the industry and to Jo and Kevin Hickman, sincere thanks from the LA and CatWalk teams.

Book 2 commences at 11am today.
