Magic Week for Per Incanto Continues

Monday, 13 November 2017 21:00

Common traits amongst the nine winners Per Incanto has had in eight days across four countries this week have been the arrival of firmer tracks and the form of his oldest crop 5YO's.

Two of the most important traits a stallions progeny need to display if he's to be regarded in the top bracket of getters are the ability to run on top of the ground and to train-on and improve with age.

Former listed winning and dual G1 placed 2YO Rocanto (Per Incanto-Romantic Liaisons by Danasinga) made a rousing start to his 5YO season with an all the way in the feature sprint at Ellerslies Melbourne Cup Day meeting.

At Otaki on Thursday, Magicellas (Per Incanto-Eyesonella by Keeper) maiden success, one of two winners on the card for her sire, was significant for lifting Per Incanto through the 70% winners to runners ratio for his inaugural crop.

On the 2000 Guineas card, the LA bred 5YO Director (Per Incanto-We Leica by Zeditave) led all the way over 1600m.

And perhaps the most progressive of Per Incantos eight winners came at Doomben on Saturday in the form of the 4YO Amanaat (Per Incanto-Mazij by General Nediym). A winner on debut last season the lightly raced 4YO registered his fourth consecutive success when sprinting away as favourite to land the class 6 1100m.

Excellent stallions
