Exciting Nadeem 3YO Air Max (Nadeem-Steel Stilettos by Hussonet) made it back to back stakes victories with his latest win at Wingatui while further north, promising 2YO filly Hasstobegood (Per Incanto-Don’t Dilly Dally by Howbaddoyouwantit) was the gamest of seconds in her Group 3 assignment at New Plymouth. Likewise, Dalcetto, by Per Incanto, came from last to finish a very close second the Group 3 Taranaki Cup at his first attempt over 1800m.

After his last start win in the (1355m) Listed Gore Guineas on a soft track the lightly raced Air Max quickened impressively to win Saturday’s (1500m) Listed Dunedin Guineas, run on a firm surface.

With a stakes winners to runners percentage of 5.6%, Nadeem’s handful of NZ based challengers for similar statistics stand for considerably north of his service fee of $6,500 plus GST. With the likes of Tinkalicious, down to run in the Listed Wairarapa Breeders Stakes this Wednesday, and the promising staying pair Shared Secrets and Real Beach, it’s conceivable Nadeem’s statistics could look even better in the months to come.

Hasstobegood, Per Incanto’s 23rd stakes performer, was exactly that on Saturday. Against the pattern of racing all day at New Plymouth the Roger James and Robert Wellwood trained filly came from last on the home turn to only get beaten a long neck in the (1200m) Group 3 Woburn Farm 2 Year Old Classic.
