Per Incanto Geldings Improve With Age

Monday, 07 October 2019 02:24

Two members of Per Incanto’s inaugural crop, both bred on the successful nick with O’Reilly mares, are giving their owners a lot of enjoyment. Connections didn’t pay a lot for Money Trail (Per Incanto-Nikki’s Bride by O’Reilly) or Cutting Up Rough (Per Incanto-Lutine Belle by O’Reilly) at the sales and the 7YO's latest winning performances at Te Rapa on Friday and Hastings on Saturday respectively were of horses with more wins in store.

A $40k buy from the 2014 RTR Sale, Money Trail took his stake earnings to the cusp of $100k with his Te Rapa win, the fifth of his career.

Stakes placed at the end of his previous campaign, $2k weanling buy Cutting Up Rough registered consecutive wins in his latest preparation with his deadheat success in the rating 82 1600m at Hastings, sharing the success ironically with Hartley who LA sold as a weanling on behalf of his breeder Sue Harty. Cutting Up Rough, bred by Te Parae’s Angela Williams, has now won nine times with five of those coming in the last 12 months, for stake earnings of $115k.

History, tradition, family, good values and lots of fun. Also when we inspect an LA yearling we do so with confidence in the horses’ upbringing, soundness and temperament. It’s a theory that has worked well because with Dominic we’ve bought the likes of Redeem The Dream and the stakeswinner Sir Lovesalot
