Per Incanto : In Rarefied Company

Tuesday, 02 December 2014 18:24

There were plenty of smiles on the faces of vendors with Per Incanto (Street Cry-Pappa Reale by Indian Ridge) progeny at the Ready to Run Sales as our first season sire continued to make a strong impression on buyers across Australasia and South East Asia.

In a remarkable performance – remembering that these progeny came off his first season service fee of just $4,000 – the group winning sprinting son of Street Cry finished the second leading first season sire on average behind the Australia domiciled Hinchinbrook, whose service fee is $16,500, and seventh overall  and second locally based stallion, to only Savabeel.

The eight Per Incanto two-year-olds sold averaged $103,750 with Brookby Stables colt from We Leica fetching the highest price at $200,000, a wonderful return on the $37,500 they paid for him from our Karaka Select draft earlier this year. It was also satisfying to see Ardsley and Cypress Point Stables share in the spoils.

Il Mio Destino (Nadeem-Floribunda by Brief Truce) became her sires 18th winner in the last 37 days when winning over 1300m in New South Wales on Sunday, while a day earlier three-year-old gelding Ice Bucket (Nadeem-Keys by Distant Music) justified strong support on the back of a recent Sydney trial success to win his debut at the Gold Coast.

Organised and professional.
