Per Incanto: Millions Beckon For Lastest Winner

Tuesday, 30 December 2014 18:25

A wide draw and a tough run could not stop the progress of Per Incanto’s(Street Cry-Pappa Reale by Indian Ridge) latest exciting juvenile Dal Cielo (Per Incanto-Cent From Heaven by Centaine) as he stormed into contention for New Zealand’s richest race the Karaka Million on 25 January with his win over 1100m at Ellerslie on Boxing Day.

Runner-up to the subsequent stakes winner and group placed Jacquetta at his debut in October, the Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman trained gelding has clearly developed with that race experience and a brief let-up. A $95,000 purchase from our 2013 Karaka Select draft by Bruce Perry Bloodstock for the Homebush Partnership, Dal Cielo continues the impressive start made by Per Incanto’s first runners.

Competition for Per Incanto’s Karaka yearlings is going to be even more intense as a number of breeders have retained his progeny. Of the 11 catalogued Per Incanto yearlings across the three sessions, LAhas his only Premier offering, the half-sister to triple group 1 winner Viadana (Towkay-Yeah Nah by Kinjite) which sells as LOT 236.

Maximus Mak (Stratum-Savamour by Savabeel), who scored over 1600m in Perth on Xmas Eve has a half brother by Darci Brahma as LOT 162 in our Karaka Premier draft.

Nadeem’s (Redoute’s Choice-Candide by Sound Reason) position atop all stallions with the best three-year-old winners to runners ratio in Australia strengthened with the winning debut of Alderaanian (Nadeem-Princess Laya by Encosta De Lago) in Victoria on Sunday.  Meanwhile, up in Queensland on Xmas Eve, Court Clown (Nadeem-Our Greta by Rory’s Jester) recorded consecutive wins with his latest success over 1300m.

LA are proud to offer the first New Zealand crop of Nadeem yearlings at Karaka next month.

We look forward to seeing you at the annual parade of our Karaka yearlings here at the farm on Sunday 11 January beginning at 10am. Per Incanto, Nadeem and Towkay will also be shown.
