Singapore's Sure Thing

Sunday, 04 April 2021 22:56

You can add exciting Singapore sprinter Sure Will Do (Per Incanto-Eloa by Volksraad) to a growing list of talented performers emerging from the first crops of mares Per Incanto served when his service fee lifted to $15k.

A $210k purchase by his trainer Stephen Gray from LA’s 2018 Karaka Book 1 draft for Elaine Chen Stables, Chen, Sure Will Do won his fourth race form five career starts when posting an eased down two length success over 1100m at Kranji on Sunday.

Sure Can Do joins the likes of unbeaten Sydney gelding Lost And Running, dual Guineas winner Lightning Jack and the very progressive Pukekohe trained mare Arrivederci as four-year-olds with black-type aspirations over coming months.

Per Incanto’s three-year-old crop look every bit as promising. Group 1 winner Bonham, Group 3 winner Miss Aotearoa, Oaks and Group 2 runner-up Charms Star and the stakes placed Alchema have already emerged from 32 runners to date.

Leading the Hong Kong and Singapore winning premierships, Per Incanto will stand for $25k in 2021.

A family operation and success over many years, plus a location in a beautiful, under rated part of the country.
