Per Incanto

Per Incanto enjoyed early success in his stallion career and the Group-winning son of Street Cry, sire of the champion mare Winx, has subsequently gone to new levels to now be firmly established as one of New Zealand’s elite sires.

He continues to be a regular source of winners to the highest grade across the racetracks of Australasia and Asia.

From modest beginnings, his service fee was first set at $4000, Per Incanto rose to be champion first season sire by winners and runner-up in the 2YO premiership in 2014-15. A year later he was crowned champion 3YO sire by winners and champion second season sire by winners, defeating the decorated Savabeel for the former title.

Two NEW Gr.1 Winners in 2019
Shadows Cast and Santa Monica

Per Incanto produced two new Group One winners in 2019 with Shadows Cast and Santa Monica joining Dal Cielo as his top-flight success stories.

The latter is a shining example of the soundness and durability of Per Incanto’s progeny and, after success in the Gr.1 Diamond Stakes at two, he was still winning at metropolitan level in Australia as an older horse.

Per Incanto has proved himself to be a top quality stallion, producing winner after winner and a breeder’s delight with his ongoing popularity in the sale ring.

At Karaka in 2020, Per Incanto’s yearlings sold for up to $210,000 in Book 1 and he averaged more than $130,000 during the session with his stock in keen demand during Book 2 and a highest price of $160,000

Karaka 2020 Book 1 Average $135,000

Bearing a close physical resemblance to his sire Street Cry, Per Incanto stands 16.1 hands and is an imposing individual. He combines good looks, class, athleticism and a kind temperament and stamps his progeny with those admirable attributes.

The good times will continue to roll for Per Incanto with his stock boasting the ability to train on as older horses and with him now attracting books of higher quality, younger stars will continue to shine.
