International Group 1 For Nadeem

Sterling City (Nadeem-So Gorgeous by Brief Truce) certainly picked the right race to land both he and his sire their inaugural group 1 success.

The Hong Kong galloper joined esteemed company when he won the US 2 million 1200m Group 1 Golden Shaheen on the Dubai World Cup card at Mediyan racetrack in UAE on Saturday night NZ time. The race which regularly draws many of the leading sprinters from across the world was taken out by Champion International Sprinter Rocket Man in 2011 and an indication of the strength of the field is found in last year’s contest when former Golden Slipper winner Sepoy found the company and the Tapeta surface beyond him when finishing 11th.

Despite never travelling comfortably due to the unfamiliar dirt track, the Nadeem five-year-old still managed to produce a relentless finish from the 200m mark when hooked off heels of the pacemaking division.

The John Moore trained galloper is likely to run in the Singapore International Sprint in May before a possible trip to Royal Ascot.

LA is excited to be offering 6 Nadeem (Redoute’s Choice – Candide by Sound Reason) weanlings at the National Weanling and Broodmare Sale at Karaka on 12-14 May.

Generous hospitality, warm friendly faces
