Progressive stayer Mightybeel (Savabeel-Super Power by Alamosa) became the latest stakes winner from LA’s 2019 Karaka Book 1 draft when he scored a deserved win in the 2400m Listed Christmas Cup at Randwick on Saturday.

A $200k purchase by Go Racing, the Chris Waller trained 4YO gelding has been a model of consistency this campaign and was coming off a second placing in a stakes race a fortnight ago.

The Jim Barlow bred Mightybeel joins Group 1 winner Bonham and Group 3 winner Whimsical as alma matter from LA’s 2019 Book 1 draft.

LA enjoyed more success at Randwick when Per Incanto’s dual stakeswinning son Lightning Jack (Per Incanto- La Petite by Savabeel) won first up in Australia for the Annabel Neasham stable over 1600m, giving Per Incanto an Australian metropolitan double for the week following the impressive win on debut at Sandown on Wednesday by last years RTR Sale graduate Can’t Go Wong (Per Incanto-O’Really Baheeya by O’Reilly).

For good measure Per Incanto supplied the winner of the feature sprint at Awapuni on Saturday courtesy of warm favourite Satu Lagi (Per Incanto- La Singa by Danasinga).
