Cheap purchase Amanaat (Per Incanto-Mazij by General Nediym) took his overall record to seven wins from 11 starts and six from his last eight when successful in the 1100m open handicap at Doomben on Saturday.
Purchased by his trainer Ben Currie from a tried sale in Melbourne for $5,000, the Per Incanto four-year-old has been a revelation for Queensland’s leading trainer, breaking track records and handling all types of going.
Per Incanto’s versatility was evident at Waipukurau during the week, siring the quinella in the 2000m Best Travel Waipukurau Cup. Locally trained mare Royal Ruby (Per Incanto-Proof by Maroof) defeated Mike and Bronwyn Griffith’s fellow five-year-old mare Missy Moo (Per Incanto-Royal Rhythm by Rhythm) in an exciting finish to the days feature event.
