Rocanto Delivers On Reputation
Unbeaten at the trials, including a three length win over impressive stakeswinner Windborne, the Stephen Marsh trained Rocanto (Per Incanto – Romantic Liaisons by Danasinga) was at short odds to make a winning debut in the $30,000 Wentworth Grange Premier at Te Rapa on Saturday.
The Lowell Goddard bred two-year-old colt justified the support to complete a comfortable win and hopefully New Zealand race-goers can get to see more of Rocanto before he departs for an inevitable career in Hong Kong.
Nadeem (Redoute’s Choice-Candide by Sound R eason) leads all comers with his three-year-old winners to runners figures in Australia this season and his latest performer in the age group is the filly Our Harmony (Nadeem-Pantenny by Canny Lad) who won over 1200m in Melbourne last Wednesday.
Speedygonzalez (Towkay-Luscious Lass by Al Akbar) and Ocean Roar (Towkay – Crystal Jet by Clay Hero) gave their sire a winning double in Hong Kong last Wednesday evening.
